About The Position

42 North Dental is hiring a Dental Assistant at Gentle Dental Rochester. The role provides clinical support to facilitate relationships between patients and dentists, improve the efficiency of quality dental care, and maintain communication among dentists, patients, and administrative staff to support a positive patient experience. The position involves assisting with dental procedures, patient preparation and education, radiographs and intra-oral images, and treatment-room and instrument preparation and sterilization.

The Dental Assistant is expected to work as part of a positive, collaborative care team. Providers being assisted may change depending on practice needs. The hourly rate is $25–$27.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Possess certifications, licensure, or registration required by the state.
• Strong verbal skills.
• Embrace a positive team approach to patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Dental Assistant (C.D.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
• Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures.
• Expose radiographs and take intra-oral pictures.
• Provide postoperative instructions and patient education.
• Prepare, break down, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.
• Maintain strict compliance with infection-control requirements and CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
• Maintain dental supply inventory.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, including adapting to changes in the providers being assisted based on practice needs.
