Dental Assistant - Unregistered (Per Diem)
About The Position
The Dental Assistant performs assigned duties within their scope of practice under the direct supervision of the dentist and Clinic Supervisor/Manager. The role assists chairside during examinations and treatments and supports safe, compliant operatory setup, breakdown, and sterilization. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dental X-ray certification, or obtain it within six months of hire.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
- California Infection Control and California Dental Practice Act Registered Provider Approved Course, required within six months of hire.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and listening skills; attention to detail; and strong customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year of dental back-office experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist chairside during examinations and treatments.
- Follow OSHA protocol when setting up and breaking down the operatory.
- Follow asepsis regulations for sterilization.
- Assist in administering nitrous oxide analgesia or sedation.
- Assist with applying restraints as directed by the dentist, including completing the restraint log.
