About The Position

With emphasis on patient comfort and satisfaction, this role provides assistance to dentists, hygienists, denturists, or other providers in the delivery of dental care and service to achieve the best possible treatment for the patient. The Dental Assistant performs all dental procedures permitted consistent with applicable state laws and regulations. An EFDA certification is required for this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Credentials to function as a Dental Assistant per state requirements.
  • Graduation from an ADA accredited dental assisting program.
  • EFDA certification.
  • Current Oregon certification for Dental Radiology Proficiency.
  • Oregon EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) Sealant certification.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials for all dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
  • Work under the supervision of a dentist to perform four-handed dentistry and dental assisting within the scope outlined by the state's dental practice act.
  • Counsel patients on post-operative care and general oral health.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs.
  • Record patient medical history, and take blood pressure and pulse.
  • Take impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts.
  • Clean and sterilize all instruments used in accordance with Company policies and OSHA/WISHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sterilization area.
  • Wear protective clothing, gloves, masks, and eyewear, adhering strictly to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy, including N95 respirators as required.
  • Travel to other Willamette Dental locations as needed based on business requirements.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
