Elevated Orthodontics is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant with a passion for creating confident smiles and providing exceptional patient care. Skilled in chairside assisting, taking impressions and X-rays, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. Experienced in supporting orthodontists with bonding, wire adjustments, and patient education. Known for strong communication skills, efficiency in fast-paced settings, and a friendly, professional demeanor that helps patients feel at ease throughout their treatment journey. An Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontists in providing specialized dental care focused on correcting teeth alignment and jaw positioning. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient patient care and smooth office operations.

Requirements

  • Completion of a dental assisting program
  • Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols.
  • Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems.
  • Current CPR and radiology certification (as required by state regulations).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures by explaining treatments and ensuring comfort.
  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as bonding, debonding, and wire adjustments.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, impressions, and digital scans of patients’ teeth.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
  • Place and remove orthodontic appliances, separators, and arch wires under the orthodontist’s supervision.
  • Record patient information, treatment progress, and updates in dental software systems.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and follow-up visits.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked.
  • Support the orthodontist in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
