About The Position

Provide sterilization/dispensing services for instruments/materials used in the orthodontic clinic. This role is responsible for the decontamination, maintenance, inspection, preparation, processing, and organization of high volumes of instruments and supplies. The Dental Assistant will stock sterile supplies and equipment within the department according to acceptable infection control standards. This position is also responsible for quality control testing, monitoring of sterilization equipment, and assisting with quarterly inventory. Additionally, the role involves helping to train new staff regarding proper sterilization procedures and protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently bend/twist/turn/reach below knees and above shoulders.
  • This position involves frequent standing and walking.
  • Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: blood borne pathogens, chemical hazards, skin irritants, vibrating equipment, use of sharp instruments and latex.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with others and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of dental assistant experience preferred.
