About The Position

The Smile Lodge Pediatric Dentistry is a fun, fast-paced, team-oriented dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for children in a positive, supportive environment. We’re looking for reliable, hard-working, and motivated individuals to join our amazing Dental Assisting team at our East Greenbush location! No dental experience? No problem! We offer on-the-job training so you can learn everything you need to succeed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Reliable, professional, and eager to learn
Comfort working with children
Must be available for a full-time, four-day work week

Responsibilities

Assist pediatric dentists and dental hygienists during routine hygiene visits and preventive procedures, anticipating provider needs to ensure efficient, seamless appointments
Prepare, maintain, sterilize, and organize treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment in accordance with OSHA and infection control standards
Escort patients and families throughout their visit, creating a welcoming, engaging, and child-friendly experience from check-in through check-out
Obtain and document consents, diagnostic records, radiographs, clinical findings, and treatment information accurately and thoroughly
Educate and support patients and parents by reinforcing treatment recommendations, preventive care instructions, and next-visit needs in a clear and compassionate manner
Monitor patient concerns, communicate relevant information to the dentist or hygienist, and help ensure continuity of care
Contribute to smooth daily operations by maintaining appointment flow, engaging patients during wait times, and supporting an exceptional patient and family experience
Maintain current CPR/BLS certification and comply with all safety, regulatory, and practice policies and procedures
