About The Position

Working within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band Schools, this role involves preparing and assisting the Dental Therapist/Dentist during dental procedures. The Dental Assistant will help deliver and promote the Dental Care Program by providing dental services and dental health education to children enrolled in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Dental Therapy Program. The organization, LLRIBHS, promotes Dental Health services and Dental Health education to all community members of LLRIB, working closely with schools and other health organizations to build capacity and educate while addressing acute needs and determinants of health.

Requirements

• Certified in Dental Assisting and registered (Or eligible for registration) with Saskatchewan Dental Assistants’ Association
• Strong organization skills & able to multi-task
• Ability to work independently as well as a team member
• Intermediate computer skills & experience using Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal, written communication & public relation skills
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license & able to travel when required

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset
• Ability to speak Cree is a definite asset

Responsibilities

• Provide Fluoride Treatments to clients
• Provide instructions on oral hygiene (Brushing &flossing)
• Booking and confirming appointments
• Document client records
• Provide infection control/sterilization and maintain a positive public relation with clients
• General office duties
