About The Position

SmileHQ is seeking a proactive and skilled Dental Assistant to join their team. This role is for someone who thinks ahead, anticipates needs, and works efficiently to support a busy, full schedule. The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable assisting chairside, taking radiographs, and learning new technologies like intraoral scanning. Flexibility to assist at the front desk when needed is also valued. This position is ideal for someone who prefers autonomy and trust in managing their responsibilities, rather than being micromanaged.

Requirements

• Maryland Dental Assistant license (Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners) — current and in good standing
• Maryland Radiation Technologist / dental radiology certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Nice To Haves

• Experience with intraoral scanning and digital impressions.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate the doctor's needs by preparing the room and equipment before patient appointments.
• Assist chairside by anticipating the next step and having instruments ready.
• Take clean, diagnostic radiographs on the first attempt.
• Perform intraoral scanning and digital impressions, or be willing to learn quickly.
• Assist at the front desk when necessary, demonstrating an understanding of the overall schedule and patient needs.
