About The Position

Westside Family Healthcare is a nonprofit organization seeking Dental Assistants to provide hands-on support to Dentists. This role involves completing prep work, updating patient records, sterilizing tools, and assisting during dental procedures. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic life support certification
• Current Delaware X-ray certification
• Six months of experience using Microsoft Office software
• Six months of experience using electronic dental or medical record software
• Graduate of accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from rooms.
• Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in the patient’s chart.
• Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist.
• Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary.
• Monitor patient flow.
• Keep dental units ready, stocked, and clean.
• Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to the company’s protocol.
• Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized.
• Arrange patient charts and radiographs for the next day’s appointments.
