In this weekday role, you’ll support dentists and hygienists through hands-on chairside care, patient-focused service, and smooth clinic operations, helping create a welcoming, efficient experience for every patient who walks through our doors. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Knowledge of dental office procedures, clinic routine and techniques used in assisting dentists and hygienists in a dental clinic required
  • Ability to relate sympathetically to a potentially difficult client population

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience providing dental assistant services is preferred.
  • Experience in providing services to culturally diverse populations is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Dentist and Dental Hygienist in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Aids at chair side by performing clinical procedures such as retractions on patient’s tongue and cheek and manipulating suction equipment to keep patient’s mouth free of water and debris.
  • Chart dental defects and other information as given by the Dentist or Dental Hygienist.
  • Sterilizing, handling and tending dental instruments.
  • Proper use of PPE and following Infection Control guidelines as per CDC / Joint Control guidelines.
  • Placing/ exposing intra/extra oral radiographs.
  • Participates in the maintenance of variety of records, including records of appointments, clinical records of patients’ condition, treatments administered, records of dental supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with the ordering of supplies and equipment and assists in the delivery of supplies to clinical sites and maintains related records.
  • Performs a variety of tasks in order to maintain the clinic, disposal of used materials, replacement of soiled linen and used supplies.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Assist in monitoring proper sterilization and equipment maintenance procedures
  • May perform high level disinfection, based on departmental equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
