Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Certificate from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (preferred)
  • Current NY DA license, or DANB CDA, ICE & RHS certifications (preferred)
  • CPR certification
  • At least 1 year of dental assisting experience (required)
  • Denticon software knowledge (a plus)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a patient-first mindset

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for patients
  • Assist dentists chairside during procedures, passing instruments and supporting patient comfort
  • Take and process digital x-rays
  • Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts and removable appliances
  • Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance
  • Track supplies and ensure operatories are stocked and organized
  • Document patient services accurately in digital records
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, aftercare, and preventive practices
