About The Position

As a Dental Assistant with X-Ray, you will support the clinical needs of patients and doctors. You will work under the supervision of dentists and closely with dental hygienists in their day-to-day activities. Duties include patient care, recordkeeping, and appointment scheduling, along with the responsibilities listed below. The role is non-exempt and pays $22.00–$26.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to learn new technologies and systems, with a demonstrated desire to learn.
Applicable state licensing: Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license, or willingness to pursue licensure immediately.
X-ray license.
Current New Jersey Registered Dental Assistant license.
Active CPR certification.
Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care.
Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public.
Strong organization, prioritization, follow-up, analytical, and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of work experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge of dental instruments and assist the dentist with chairside patient care.
Maintain inventory in operatories where the provider renders treatment.
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines.
Provide patient interactions related to scheduling, follow-up treatment, post-surgical information, and recordkeeping.
Perform basic laboratory procedures, including taking impressions, pouring models, and preparing cases for external labs.
Remove excess cement from crowns, other restorations, and orthodontic appliances.
Fabricate and cement temporary crowns and bridges after a dentist prepares the tooth or teeth.
Place and remove rubber dams and clamps.
Trial-size or pre-select orthodontic bands, wires, stainless steel crowns, and temporary crowns intra-orally or on diagnostic models.
Place and remove arch wires and ligature wires, and perform other duties within the scope of a Registered Dental Assistant. Intra-oral occlusal adjustment is excluded.
Maintain the appearance of public areas.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
