About The Position

The Dental Assistant provides documentation of dental services to the dentist or their designee. This includes maintaining dental charts, recording dental findings, and scheduling patient appointments so dentists can monitor services and provide appropriate care. The role also provides chair-side assistance and supports the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of the dental clinic. Travel to the Belle Glade facility is required 1–2 times per week.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or certification in Dental Technology from an accredited school.
• Experience in a private or public dental practice as a Dental Technician or Registered Dental Assistant.
• Demonstrate consistent sound judgment with dental decisions in a correctional healthcare environment.
• Be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• Attain and maintain all state-mandated certifications or trainings.
• Reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures, sterilize instruments, and mix restorative materials as needed.
• Perform intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays, and develop and mount x-ray films.
• Maintain x-ray equipment, processor, autoclave, and dental units according to specifications.
• Manage supplies and equipment inventory, order supplies, and set up trays for patients.
• Complete daily instrument count sheets, perform dental screenings, and maintain clinic cleanliness and sanitation.
• Maintain dental charts and records of dental findings, and schedule patients for dental appointments.
