As a Dental/Sterilization Assistant with Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine, you won’t just support dentists and dental residents — you’ll help power a learning environment built on innovation, collaboration, and community impact. From assisting chairside with four-handed dentistry to managing sterilization workflows, digital imaging, and dental supply systems, you’ll play a key role in keeping both patient care and clinical education running smoothly. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program and minimum one year of work experience as a dental assistant preferred, or any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Experience with different digital radiographic formats.
  • X-ray Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists and dental residents in provision of dental care to patients with four-handed dentistry.
  • Expose dental radiographs utilizing either standard or digital radiology equipment.
  • Maintain dental supply inventory of equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Contribute to the operation of the Sterilization and Dispensary Inventory System.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment used in the dental clinics.
  • Maintain and perform basic repairs to dental and laboratory equipment; report major malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Check out and distribute instruments and equipment to dentist and dental residents using the university instrument tracking system.
  • Handle and dispose of sharps or hazardous materials according to established University, State, and federal OSHA standards.
