About The Position

A paid, hands-on internship in Franklin, Ohio, designed for individuals seeking to enter the field of dental assisting. No prior certification or clinical experience is necessary, as the program offers comprehensive in-house training. This internship serves as a growth track to develop a skilled and credentialed Dental Assistant from the beginning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing).
  • Must be reliable and coachable.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting and being on your feet for most of the day.
  • Willingness to work towards required certification exams during the internship (e.g., NELDA — the DANB National Entry Level Dental Assistant exam).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior radiology exposure or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance, including four-handed dentistry, instrument preparation, and general procedure support.
  • Adhere to sterilization and infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and Ohio Dental Board standards.
  • Perform patient intake, manage scheduling, and handle basic Medicaid/cash-pay documentation.
  • Gain exposure to prosthodontic and denture workflows.
  • Participate in optional shadowing and exposure to dental radiography.
