About The Position
This position is for a Dental Assistant in Training who will learn on-site to provide four-handed assistance to the Dentist and assist the dental staff with quality care for health center patients. The training will involve on-site learning with a trainer, radiology classes, and online programs.
Requirements
- Take and pass Radiology certification test.
- Be CPR certified.
- Successfully complete Infection Control course.
- Acquire MA Dental Assistant license within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical assisting.
- Maintain instruments and machinery.
- Perform proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments and handpieces.
- Stay current on new requirements for sterilization and maintenance.
- Manage inventory of supplies.
- Maintain stocked dental supplies.
- Accompany patients to and from the waiting area.
- Perform water line maintenance and flushing as needed.
- Ensure operatory infection control.
- Utilize patient mouth rinse prior to any procedures.
- Verify patient's medications and health history, and advise the dentist.
