About The Position

A dental assistant in the state of Missouri may perform basic supportive dental procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.

Requirements

• Dental Assistant Certificate from an accredited school or 2 years dental assisting experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Nitrous Oxide certificate preferred.
• Expanded Functions certificates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare patients and operatories for dental treatment.
• Take digital x-rays.
• Using four-handed dentistry, assist with dental procedures, complete charting electronically, provide patient preventive education and oral hygiene instruction.
• Follow current infection control protocols for disinfection and sterilization of rooms, instruments and equipment.
• Recognize basic medical and dental emergencies.
• Display good customer service, communication and office teamwork.
