About The Position

The Dental Assistant 3 provides clerical and clinical support in the Dental Clinic, holds certifications in multiple expanded functions, and supports dentists in providing dental services in accordance with Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry regulations. The role helps manage the flow of the dental team and serves CNHSA patients, specifically pediatric populations. This is a full-time position at the Durant Clinic, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The pay scale is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option.

Requirements

Dental Assistant Permit through the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
Completion of two Dental Assisting Expanded Function courses.
IHS Radiology Certificate within one year of hire.
BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
Two years of dental assisting experience.

Responsibilities

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, postoperative care, and overall oral health.
Ensure dental staff follow infection-control protocols and prepare instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensure patient safety, and keep current with techniques through continuing education.
Provide pediatric and adult cleanings; apply sealants and fluoride treatments; perform supragingival scaling; and place alloy and composite restorations using expanded-function certification.
Mentor and train Dental Assistant 1 and 2 staff and provide feedback.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, prepare trays for procedures and cleanings, and maintain dental equipment functionality.
Schedule and confirm appointments, maintain confidential patient records, and oversee dental supplies inventory to support continuity of care.
Collaborate with the Dental Office Manager at all clinics to improve patient care and staff efficiency.
Complete tasks assigned to Dental Assistant Level 1 and 2.
Perform other duties as assigned.
