About The Position

This position requires a dedicated driver to report to work on time and work until the assignment is completed, adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's hours of service regulations. The driver will be responsible for using electronic logging devices, completing accurate driver logs, and performing pre/post-trip vehicle inspections. Key duties include the nightly drop-off and pick-up of demountable cargo boxes. Routes are subject to change, with drop-off/pick-up locations rotating between facilities in Alabama. Drivers must observe all federal and state traffic laws, drive with caution to prevent merchandise damage or shifting, and be prepared to deliver in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by management. The role involves sitting, standing, driving, walking, pushing/pulling, climbing, and reaching, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Additional duties may be assigned. This is a drug-free and non-smoking work environment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have 1 year continuous experience driving a tractor trailer either over the road or local.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must be able to operate a stick shift tractor.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…)
  • Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph).
  • Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.
  • Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work at scheduled time and work until assignment is completed, complying with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's hours of service regulations.
  • Properly use electronic logging devices.
  • Complete accurate drivers logs and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Complete drop off/pick-ups of demountable cargo boxes on a nightly basis.
  • Observe all federal and state traffic laws and drive with caution to avoid causing breakage and shifting merchandise.
  • Deliver in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by company management.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Support and assist with direct daytime delivery when needed.
