About The Position

Hy-Vee Demonstrators bring products to life for customers by preparing and presenting product demonstrations, offering samples, sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and suggesting ways to prepare and use products. The role focuses on friendly customer service and making shopping engaging and enjoyable. Demonstrators organize and stock demonstration supplies, maintain a clean and sanitary work area, answer customer calls, collaborate with coworkers, and may assist elsewhere in the store or take on special projects. The position requires adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, company policies, and store guidelines, as well as reporting to work as scheduled and on time. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer product-related questions, explain products, and suggest ways to prepare and use them.
Organize items needed for demonstrations and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Practice proper sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
Work with coworkers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
