About The Position

Seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to support a retired teacher and devoted family man who enjoys walks, music, conversation, and staying active. This role is ideal for someone who understands dementia care and enjoys creating engaging, purposeful days, not just completing tasks. Home Instead is a care partner, not a staffing agency, delivering consistent, relationship-based care that allows clients to remain safe, respected, and independent at home. Our Care Pros are trusted professionals who show up prepared, communicate clearly, and follow through every shift.

Requirements

• Has Alzheimer's/dementia experience
• Enjoys meaningful conversation
• Is comfortable with personal care
• Is dependable and proactive
• Monday & Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM availability (minimum)
• Additional daytime opportunities available
• Expanded hours available/needed July 8–15

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and respite support
• Assist with showers and grooming
• Support shaving, dressing, oral care, and appearance
• Take walks with the client and family dog
• Visit parks, libraries, and community locations
• Engage through music, conversation, and shared interests
• Use calm redirection when confusion occurs
• Help maintain dignity, confidence, and routine
