Demand Planner – SIOP / Integrated Business Planning Position Summary We are seeking a Demand Planner to join our team in Calgary. The primary purpose of this role is to lead demand planning activities and support the execution of De Havilland Canada's Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining demand forecasts, driving cross-functional alignment, facilitating demand reviews, and ensuring planning assumptions are translated into actionable supply and manufacturing requirements. This position serves as a key link between Sales, Programs, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations to ensure demand signals are accurately captured, risks are identified early, and business decisions are supported through data-driven planning. In addition to demand planning responsibilities, the role will support aftermarket order management activities and configuration management processes to maintain product and planning data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Demand Planning, SIOP, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Supply Chain Planning, Production Planning, or Sales & Operations Planning.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating cross-functional planning processes and executive-level reviews.
  • Experience developing forecasts, analyzing demand trends, and supporting inventory and capacity planning decisions.
  • Strong understanding of SIOP / IBP processes, demand planning methodologies, and supply chain fundamentals.
  • Advanced analytical and forecasting capabilities with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions without direct authority.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience identifying demand risks, inventory implications, and capacity constraints.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in Lean and continuous improvement environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace, manufacturing, MRO, or industrial operations experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.) is preferred.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, IBF, Oliver Wight, or equivalent planning certifications are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the monthly demand planning process, ensuring forecasts accurately reflect customer requirements, market intelligence, sales opportunities, and business assumptions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional demand review meetings and support the monthly SIOP cycle.
  • Aggregate demand signals across Aftermarket, MRO, Production, and Program requirements to develop a consolidated demand plan.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy, demand variability, historical consumption, and emerging trends to improve planning performance.
  • Identify forecast risks, opportunities, and gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support executive SIOP reviews by preparing planning scenarios, demand analytics, and business recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program Management to align demand, capacity, inventory, and delivery commitments.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities and proposals for manufacturing and supply chain supportability prior to demand creation.
  • Ensure demand requirements are loaded with appropriate lead times and planning assumptions within the ERP system.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting, planning processes, and KPI performance.
  • Maintain planning data within ERP systems to ensure forecast, inventory, and demand reporting accuracy.
  • Review and validate master data, planning parameters, and forecasting assumptions.
  • Support KPI reporting, including forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory health, backlog management, and demand attainment.
  • Support configuration management activities by maintaining configuration documentation and change control records.
  • Assist with data validation and configuration baseline management within ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams to ensure product configuration data remains accurate and controlled.
  • Support internal customers across Calgary, Victoria, and Toronto by coordinating planning-related activities.
  • Review customer requirements and ensure demand signals are properly reflected within planning systems.
  • Assist with RFQs, order management, schedule changes, returns, and repairs as required.
  • Communicate planning impacts, lead times, and delivery risks to stakeholders.
