About The Position

The Demand Planner plays a critical role in driving demand visibility and supporting business growth across Safilo's portfolio. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining demand forecasts and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between commercial plans and supply chain capabilities. Through data analysis, market insights, and close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, and Supply Planning, the Demand Planner helps maximize product availability, support successful product launches, and drive continuous improvement in forecasting and inventory management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Analytics, Operations, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, inventory, operations, or data analysis; relevant internship or co-op experience is welcomed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to macros or advanced data tools is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, or broader supply chain concepts.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Strong organizational skills, curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to SAP, Tableau, Shopify, Analysis-BW, JDA, or Blue Yonder is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining a rolling 12-month demand forecast using historical sales, customer orders, market trends, and business inputs.
  • Update monthly forecasts to reflect changes in demand, promotions, new product introductions, and end-of-life transitions.
  • Analyze forecast performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities that may affect forecast accuracy, inventory, or service levels.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Category Management, and Supply Planning to incorporate commercial inputs into the demand plan.
  • Support new product forecasting through analysis of comparable products, launch assumptions, and early sales performance.
  • Track and report key planning metrics, including forecast accuracy, forecast error, SKU coverage, availability, slow movers, and best sellers.
  • Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and management summaries with a strong focus on data quality and actionable insights.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning effectiveness, reporting, forecast accuracy, and service levels.
  • Support assortment reviews, SKU rationalization, excess inventory reduction, closeout activities, and stock utilization initiatives.
  • Help identify potential stockouts, overstock situations, and portfolio opportunities, communicating findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
