About The Position

This role is responsible for planning activities for Specialty product lines at both Laurinburg and Oshkosh CDBS locations using software such as Blue Yonder, Oracle, & JDE. The Demand Planner will use analytical, marketing, and sales data to effectively estimate future product demands for a site, ensuring all demand planning activities and processes, including developing forecast models, are completed on time. The position requires close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to execute forecast adjustments.

Forecasting & Data Analysis - Ability to analyze historical sales, market trends, customer demand patterns, and statistical forecasts to create accurate demand plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Effectively partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Planning, Operations, Finance, and key customers to gather insights and align on demand assumptions.
Communication & Storytelling - Clearly communicate forecast changes, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Business Acumen - Understanding how demand impacts inventory, production, capacity, customer service, and financial results.
Exempt Entry Level: Designed for external candidates within 2 years of completing their highest level of degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD, MBA, or JD) from an accredited U.S. college/university, and currently reside within the continental U.S.
International Student Eligibility (U.S. based roles): F-1 visa students must have approved Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Occupational Practical Training (OPT) before their Early Career assignment begin. CPT/OPT must relate to their degree and be authorized by their university. Students are responsible for securing this approval through their school’s international office.
College, university, or equivalent degree required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Minimal to intermediate level of experience required.

Responsibilities

Develop effective forecast models for a site based on industry trends, demand patterns, and knowledge of business, customers, markets, and products.
Provide insight by comparing statistics-based forecast to consensus forecast.
Support risk assessments and mitigation activities for a site.
Provide Forecast Error assumptions to Inventory Optimization team and also provide/ensure alignment on demand assumptions into the plan.
Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy for a site.
Communicate forecast estimations to leadership and other stakeholders.
Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
Conduct monthly forecast maintenance for a site.
Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Interpret, analyze, and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.
Uses the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis; occasionally refers to adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc. in performing problem solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.
Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.
Uses advanced tools (e.g. Advanced Planning Command Centre, Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards etc.) to take a decision related to parts availability, inventory optimization and root cause analysis.
Uses statistical analysis and collaborates with other disciplines to provide a long term view of customers demand, and ensures the supply plan is aligned with the demand plan; balances supply and demand in a manner that achieves the financial and service objectives, while stabilizing the supply chain and optimizing the supply chain tensions.
Extracts, transforms, models, interprets, and presents planning data with the goal of mining useful information, troubleshooting, suggesting conclusions, and supporting value creating decision making.
