About The Position

Manage a demand and supply plan for products assigned, by creating supply plans and communicating them to suppliers through purchase orders to ensure that agreed customer forecasts accuracy are satisfied and inventory targets are achieved. Appropriately highlight forecast issues and risks to Demand Planning management. Interface with Suppliers, Category Managers, Sales, Warehousing, Finance and Systems to obtain the information necessary for the demand/supply process in order to satisfy requirements on time while reducing inventory to agreed target levels. Negotiate any additional information needed. Responsible for the demand and collaborative forecasting planning processes. Gather, analyze, prepare and validate data for the inventory forecast. Obtain early warning data on potential inventory and shortage issues and monitor corrective actions as required. Analyze and review the monthly sales forecast on a customer and product level. Review statistical forecast models, and apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting. Monitor trends in forecast error. Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs. Planning the development of production schedules and inventory management. Identify bottlenecks and establish a plan to eliminate excess goods. Escalate issues impacting forecast performance to senior management. The ability to analyze and consolidate large volumes of data, and communicate it effectively and convincingly. The Demand Planner participates within cross-functional teams, and supports and trains other Demand Planners in their respective responsibilities. Participate in monthly S&OP meetings with Marketing, Sales and Finance by preparing sales forecast reports, identifying inventory risks, and providing status on new product introductions and promotions. Provide leadership in the analysis and collaborative processes for demand planning. Establish process measurements, obtain feedback, analyze results, perform root cause analysis and generate reports to support the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree
  • 2 – 5 years in the field or in a related area
  • Experience with SAP and/or Demand Solutions experience a plus.
  • Through understanding of MRP and the impact of forecasts on downstream supply chain processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
