Deltek Vantagepoint Systems Manager

QC Servion, LLC
$130,000 - $150,000Remote

About The Position

This is a high-impact opportunity to lead and modernize the Deltek Vantagepoint ecosystem for a complex multi-entity organization, working hand-in-hand with Finance, IT, and HR/Payroll on nearly every major initiative. You'll help architect new automated integrations with Rippling and Avalara, standardize reporting and data structures across every entity, and shape how the Company's systems support business growth. If you are a Vantagepoint expert who thrives on replacing manual, inefficient workflows with streamlined, automated solutions and wants a seat at the table for system-of-record decisions, this is your role. Why This Role Cross-functional impact: your work directly shapes how Finance, IT, and HR/Payroll operate, with decisions that touch every entity in the Company. High visibility: direct, regular collaboration with Finance and executive leadership on decisions that affect every entity in the Company. Modern tool stack: hands-on work with Vantagepoint, Rippling, Avalara, SQL, and Power BI — not a single legacy system in isolation. Autonomy to Modernize: We have a real backlog of manual processes ready to be optimized. You will have the latitude and resources to drive true digital transformation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience administering Deltek Vantagepoint (or a comparable project-based ERP) in a multi-company environment.
  • Multi-Jurisdiction Tracking: Design and implement a solution to capture employee "Work-In" locations at the timesheet level within Vantagepoint, syncing this data back to Rippling to ensure compliant multi-state payroll tax withholding.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience building custom reports within or alongside Vantagepoint.
  • Working knowledge of Chart of Accounts design, project numbering standards, and data mapping for multi-entity consolidation.
  • Experience managing system security, user roles, and workflow configuration within the Deltek ERP environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent, high-priority technical initiatives.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying inefficient processes and driving measurable efficiency gains within an ERP or similar system environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical system requirements for Finance, Payroll, and HR stakeholders.
  • Comfortable taking on occasional large-scale, one-time system initiatives (e.g., a fiscal year-end conversion) as they arise under the Special Projects portion of the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on expertise architecting and maintaining API-based integrations between Deltek Vantagepoint and third-party HRIS/tax-engine platforms (Rippling and Avalara experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience supporting a fiscal year-end conversion or similar one-time ERP initiative is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, including building reports and dashboards directly from Deltek Vantagepoint back-end database tables, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT to design, build, and maintain an automated, bi-directional API integration between Rippling (HRIS) and Deltek Vantagepoint to eliminate manual data entry.
  • Architect and implement an automated, multi-jurisdiction sales tax compliance workflow using Avalara, integrated with Vantagepoint across all entities.
  • Audit current Timesheet and Expense entry workflows across Rippling and Vantagepoint; recommend and drive the optimal system-of-record approach to ensure payroll accuracy and data integrity.
  • Design and implement a solution to capture employee "Work-In" locations at the timesheet level within Vantagepoint, and sync this data back to Rippling so that payroll taxes are accurately calculated and withheld based on where work is physically performed, particularly for employees working across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Troubleshoot integration errors and data discrepancies between systems, working directly with Rippling, Avalara, and other systems support as needed.
  • Proactively identify manual, redundant, or inefficient processes across Vantagepoint and related systems, and design streamlined, automated solutions to replace them.
  • Standardize project numbering conventions and Chart of Accounts (COA) groupings across all entities to facilitate clean corporate consolidation.
  • Build advanced SQL-based and Vantagepoint-native reports, plus Power BI dashboards drawing directly from Vantagepoint back-end tables, giving leadership real-time visibility into project health, utilization, and consolidated financial performance.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to define reporting requirements and ensure reports meet consolidation and management reporting needs.
  • Manage Vantagepoint user IDs, security roles, and permissions across all entities.
  • Maintain and evolve system workflows, approval hierarchies, and automated notifications as organizational needs change.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for day-to-day Vantagepoint system issues, user support, and enhancement requests.
  • Document and maintain a comprehensive library of system configurations, integration architecture maps, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Finance, HR/Payroll, and executive leadership to scope and prioritize ad hoc technical or process-improvement projects as they arise.
  • Develop a project plan and timeline for each special assignment, identifying stakeholders, dependencies, and required system or data changes.
  • Execute assigned special projects independently, escalating risks or resourcing conflicts with core Vantagepoint responsibilities as needed.
  • Document outcomes and, where applicable, transition any new processes or configurations into standard operating procedures.

Benefits

  • Choice of comprehensive medical plans (including two PPO-style plans and a HDHP w/ HSA option).
  • Flex spending accounts (FSA).
  • Dental and vision plans.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits extended to spouse / domestic partner and dependent children up to age 26.
  • 401k with company match and self-directed brokerage account option.
  • PTO including additional paid time off during the last week of the year.
  • Company paid life insurance coverage for employees and their eligible dependents.
  • Short and long-term disability, AD&D coverage.
  • Professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and professional licensing assistance.
