Delta One Trader

PEAK6•Chicago, IL
•$100,000 - $125,000•Hybrid

About The Position

PEAK6 Capital Management is seeking a Delta One Trader to join a new Middle Office group. This role involves overseeing the Delta One portfolio, managing the firm's balance sheet, portfolio costs, and returns. As the group grows, responsibilities will expand into capital and asset management across multiple PEAK6 entities. The role will help answer questions about capital allocation, movement between entities, and position margining and financing. This is not a traditional Delta One trading seat, but a role for someone with core trading skills who wants to address complex problems involving risk, capital, and operations.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in trading, middle office, or treasury at a prop firm, market maker, bank, or hedge fund
  • Working knowledge of portfolio margining, prime brokerage financing, and capital requirements (risk-based haircuts, RWA, or similar frameworks)
  • Comfort with python and SQL; you will build and maintain your own tooling
  • Strong collaboration skills, comfortable working across different teams
  • Strong sense of ownership and high attention to detail
  • A self-directed mindset and comfort with a broad, evolving mandate; you are excited by the variety of problems rather than looking for a narrowly defined seat
  • Must obtain a Series 57 license if not already held

  • Prior experience with securities lending, repo, treasury management, or portfolio financing is a strong plus
  • Understanding of options theory and other derivatives is a strong plus

  • Manage nightly balance sheet and RWA to maintain target resource utilization profiles while minimizing our portfolio funding costs

  • Enhance the firm’s portfolio financing toolkit, help evaluate trade-offs in financing and capital treatment across products and entities
  • Help manage relationships with banking partners
  • Partner with our Risk, Finance, and Operations teams on capital movement, margin efficiency, and cash management across our various investment entities
  • Help grow the Middle Office function as a whole and maximize its value to the organization
