About The Position

The primary focus of a delivery driver in training is to provide a high level of customer service to our field operations while meeting defined quality and on time performance standards. A driver in training must work safely while adapting to the changing needs of our business.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Transportation vehicles include 28’ box trucks, 16’ stake beds and commercial vans.
  • Hold a valid California Driver’s License.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Last 6 Months: Major Violations: 1, Accidents: 1, Combined: 1. Past 3 Years: Major Violations: 2, Accidents: 2, Combined: 2.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Individuals must be able to physically: All physical requirements are noted on the Physical Requirements document.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials securely to designated job sites.
  • Unload materials and stage according to documented standard works.
  • Ensure delivery paperwork is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and address potential workplace hazards.
  • Perform other duties as communicated by the Delivery Supervisor.
  • Communicate problems encountered as they pertain to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an evolving team.
  • Self-leadership capabilities – the ability to lead yourself to meet your goals and those of the company.
  • Lead in the development of your own career with the assistance of the Skills Matrix and Standard Works.
  • Communicate irregularities with field leadership.

  • A Driver in Training must be in good attendance and performance standing to be eligible for transfer or promotion.
  • All injuries, regardless of severity or where it occurred must be reported to the supervisor immediately.
