About The Position
The Delivery Technician is responsible for making deliveries and setting up equipment, pulling supplies, cleaning equipment, and instructing patients on the proper use and safety of equipment. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires strong customer service and assessment skills. The technician must be able to adapt to various environments and time constraints.
Requirements
- Customer service skills – dealing with patients and caregivers in a stressful time
- Good assessment skills
- Ability to adapt to many different situations- limited space, time restraints, un-sanitary conditions
- High School Diploma
- One-year experience in delivery or medical background
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, stooping, hearing, color vision, balancing, handling and communicating to caregivers
Responsibilities
- Delivery and setup of equipment
- Pull and load equipment
- Contact patient/caregiver to set up time and provide teaching on proper use of equipment
- Solicit additional services
- Complete documentation (Delivery packets, Driver logs – pre-trip inspection, Equipment maintenance logs, cleaning logs)
- Oxygen Trans fill (Fill O2 portables according to FDA guidelines, Inspect, clean, label and set up for filling, Complete, maintain and verify logs)
- Receiving, filling and distribution of tanks
- Clean and service equipment according to policy and procedure manuals
- Inspect and repair as needed
- Label all new equipment
