About The Position

The Delivery Specialist will drive a company vehicle to deliver parts and products to O’Reilly stores and distribution centers. This role is responsible for maintaining a daily route manifest, ensuring the security of fleet/fuel cards and vehicle keys, and adhering to accident report guidelines. The position requires projecting a professional image, communicating effectively with store personnel, and ensuring timely deliveries according to the set schedule. Daily vehicle checks, including fluid levels and mileage logging, are essential, along with reporting any maintenance needs immediately. Safe and defensive driving practices are paramount.

Requirements

  • Must have legal required state driver's license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements.
  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
  • Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicle to deliver parts and products to stores and/or distribution center.
  • Pick up and sign for stock transfers at each stop on set route, deliver to appropriate store.
  • Maintain daily city route manifest for deliveries.
  • Responsible for keeping fleet/fuel card, vehicle and keys secure.
  • Ensure designated team member at each store verifies all invoices and signs the route manifest.
  • Deliveries must be made according to set schedule and any delays reported to city delivery supervisor and/or stores remaining on route.
  • Project professional and personable image to maintain good customer relations.
  • Communicate any problems or special needs from stores to store management.
  • Clock in/out according to company policy.
  • Check fluid levels, i.e., oil, radiator, transmission, etc., and log mileage prior to operating vehicle each day.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs immediately to store manager.
  • Ensure fuel tank is filled, lock and secure vehicle at end of day's business.
  • Drive safely and defensively.
