About The Position

Holt of California is seeking a Delivery Person - Lowbed to join their team in Stockton, CA. This role involves operating a diesel-powered tractor-trailer to safely transport heavy equipment between locations. The primary function is to safely load and secure equipment for transport, adhering to all regulations and company guidelines.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write for daily inspections, time sheets, and other documents.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour).
• A polite and professional disposition.
• High school or GED.
• Two years related truck experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience driving a manual transmission.
• Heavy equipment experience.
• Valid Class A driver license.
• DOT medical card.
• Clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of equipment, including pre-trip and daily logs, daily time sheets, delivery sheets, and safety inspections.
• Operates vehicle in accordance with DOT Federal and State regulations.
• Properly loads and unloads equipment using securement equipment such as chains and binders.
• Receives daily schedule from dispatcher.
• Makes deliveries within established time frames.
• Performs light/routine maintenance (fueling, greasing, repairing, cleaning) and upkeep of the truck, and notifies supervisor when more extensive repairs/maintenance are required.
• Obtains customer signature on rental agreements for deliveries, noting any damage to equipment and documenting it on the rental agreement.
• Recognizes and reports any abnormal equipment operating conditions to supervisor within 24 hours.
• Reports any accident immediately to dispatcher/supervisor.
• Recognizes and reports any unsafe working conditions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Wage Range $33.00 to $35.00 Hourly
• Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
