About The Position

Gulfeagle Supply is looking for motivated individuals to join our team and utilize our core value of the development of people. Our Delivery Material Handlers work alongside our driver and are responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of building materials to the job site by using a forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand. Requirements

  • Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
  • Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
  • Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time.
  • Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine.
  • Requires a high degree of attention to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
  • Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points.
  • Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner.
  • Must pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Climbing up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof.

Responsibilities

  • Loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
  • Verifying the quantities of materials for accuracy.
  • Assisting the driver in locating the job site.
  • Spotting the driver when backing up into a job site.
  • Directing the driver in placement of the conveyor.
  • Unloading or assisting in unloading materials by using forklift crane, conveyor and/or by hand.
  • Ensuring proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.
  • Ensuring the truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed.
  • Responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company.
  • Assisting in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
  • Maintaining warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner.
  • Performing minor repairs as needed.
  • Responsible for the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate.
  • Aiding in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer’s property and Gulfeagle’s property.
  • Aiding Customers with materials, reporting problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as needed.
