About The Position

This is a founding role at a data and AI company, offering high ownership, direct client impact, and a chance to shape the company's operations and growth. The role involves leading complex, 0-to-1 engagements, transforming ambiguous goals from mid-market leadership teams into working data systems and measurable business outcomes. The position requires moving between executive stakeholders and engineering teams, owning the client relationship end-to-end, and helping to build internal playbooks for scalability. The role reports to the CEO of Paradox. This is a role for someone who wants to build something, rather than execute an existing process.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years in data, analytics, consulting, or similar roles with experience leading multiple projects and managing clients (internal or external).
  • Experience delivering data systems or products (pipelines, analytics platforms, AI-driven applications) alongside engineers.
  • Comfortable translating ambiguous business problems into clear engineering specifications while managing tradeoffs.
  • Client-facing experience in challenging environments with misaligned stakeholders and unclear paths forward.
  • Genuine fluency with AI tools and a habit of incorporating them into work.
  • Bias for action, demonstrated by proactively writing SQL queries, drafting data definitions, or participating in demos to move projects forward.

Responsibilities

  • Client engagements, end-to-end: acting as the primary partner to clients, leading discovery, aligning stakeholders, defining scope, and ensuring accountability through launch and adoption.
  • Translating business problems into working systems: converting client discussions into clear engineering specifications for pipelines, analytics platforms, and AI applications, and staying involved through prioritization, testing, and rollout.
  • Building the company: identifying successful practices across engagements and developing them into repeatable assets like delivery templates, data models, and internal tools. Contributing to proposals, shaping solution approaches for prospective clients, and improving the company's capabilities.
