About The Position

The Delivery Helper's primary functions include loading, locating job sites, backing, preparing and restoring job sites, preparing the truck for the following day, and maintaining the truck and equipment. The role involves ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT, for personnel safety. Responsibilities also include performing pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy, safely unloading and delivering product to assigned areas as directed by the customer, and securing materials like mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck. The position requires navigating routes to job sites and involves constant physical activity in an outside environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately
  • Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. in order to carry materials, such as drywall materials and joint compound

Responsibilities

  • Load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site
  • Prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and equipment
  • Compliance of company, state and federal guidelines particularly as it relates to OSHA and DOT for the safety of all personnel
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order
  • Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer
  • Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on truck
  • Navigate routes to the job site
  • Constantly moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job site
  • Constantly positions self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom
  • Frequently moves materials weighing up to 100lbs while unloading and loading flatbed
  • Communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information
