About The Position

The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site, and preparing the truck for the following day and maintaining the truck and equipment. This role is with a national building materials distributor that values its team members and invests in training and work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately.
  • Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization.
  • Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.
  • Must be able to remain standing 90% of the time.
  • Constantly moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job site.
  • Constantly positions self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.
  • Frequently moves materials weighing up to 100lbs while unloading and loading flatbed.
  • Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly working in an outside environment while making deliveries.
  • Must be able to prioritize job sites and deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to receive information and directions.
  • Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site.
  • Prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and equipment.
  • Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product.
  • Safely unload product and deliver to the assigned area as directed by the customer.
  • Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on the truck.
  • Navigate routes to the job site.
