About The Position

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is hiring a Delivery Driver for its Augusta location. This role involves coordinating and planning delivery routes, delivering products to customers, and ensuring excellent customer service. The driver will alter delivery schedules as needed, distribute products, complete and verify paperwork, collect payments, and ensure product and inventory accuracy. The position also requires addressing customer concerns, seeking additional product orders, and communicating relevant information to sales representatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
Must meet requirements to receive a Department of Transportation Card at the time of the physical examination.

Responsibilities

Drives truck to deliver items such as beer, wine, liquor, and point of sale items to customer's place of business.
Collects returnable items and empty containers from businesses and transports them back to the distribution center.
Inspects loads to ensure proper packing and security to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage.
Conducts an inventory of truck contents, retrieves overages, and accounts for shortages.
Reviews truck contents to ensure correct loading, checking weight distribution and product stability for safety.
Collects and coordinates payments from customers and records transactions.
Records delivery information using the provided delivery record.
Listens to and resolves service complaints, resolving issues when possible.
Coordinates customer comments and service issues with transportation management for resolution.
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
Provides preventative maintenance and safety checks on their vehicle by conducting DOT regulated pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management.
