About The Position

Lakes Gas, a family-owned propane provider for over 60 years and one of the largest in the Midwest, is seeking a Delivery Driver for a local route. This position offers the opportunity to be home every night and is a Class B CDL role. The primary responsibilities include delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing excellent customer service. The role requires a Class B CDL with tanker and hazardous endorsements (or the ability to obtain them), a DOT medical examiner's card, and a strong emphasis on safety, mechanical aptitude, and good driving skills. The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and includes additional duties such as maintaining company and customer equipment, and plant maintenance.

Requirements

• Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
• A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
• Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English Language
• Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Qualified candidates will be safety conscious and customer service oriented
• Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets
• DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years
• Maintains compliance with all DOT requirements

Responsibilities

• Delivering propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites.
• Providing first-in-class customer service.
• Maintaining and upkeeping company and customer equipment.
• Performing plant maintenance activities.
• Inspecting vehicles and notifying supervisors of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Filling, loading, securing, and delivering propane cylinders or bulk.
