About The Position

This position is responsible for accurately picking and preparing customer orders, safely transporting materials to designated locations, and delivering products directly to individual departments while maintaining accurate tracking and delivery logs, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY. The work environment involves a combination of warehouse, driving, and customer service settings. Employees work in a distribution center where they are responsible for picking, staging, and loading orders for delivery. The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials, as well as the operation of pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment. Drivers spend a portion of their day operating a box truck and traveling to customer locations, where they deliver products to individual departments and ensure accurate order distribution and record keeping. The position requires working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, adhering to safety procedures, maintaining delivery documentation, and interacting professionally with customers, receiving personnel, and department staff. Strong attention to detail, time management, and physical stamina are essential to meet delivery schedules and maintain operational efficiency. Employees must agree to maintain a Drug/Free workplace as a condition of employment with the Gila River Casino. All Gaming Facility employees must be certified/licensed, which is required for purposes of continued employment. The certification process includes a full background check.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess a valid AZ driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five (5) years.
  • Training/experience driving a box truck is required.
  • Must possess excellent judgment and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Must be extremely flexible and be able to successfully manage simultaneous tasks.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, and work through critical issues.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.

  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, be a self-starter with the ability to follow up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Basic skills in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite Software, email and Enterprise specific programs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to accurately complete logs, reports, and forms with clear and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing using 5s, 10s, and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and/or distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, manipulate, and feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, and maintain balance throughout the workday.
  • Occasional sitting, talking, and hearing are required.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to safely perform warehouse and delivery-related duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Training/experience in warehousing and/or material handling preferred.
  • This position must have the ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Pick, load, transport, and deliver product safely and efficiently using forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Accurately pulls issued items, purchase orders, and non-inventory items for departments as requested while maintaining complete and accurate records and logs.
  • Conducts regular inspections of enterprise vehicles, noting and reporting any damage and/or changes to the vehicle.
  • Ensure company vehicles are properly fueled and maintain accurate mileage and vehicle usage records.
  • Safely and efficiently transports products between delivery locations while operating a company vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
  • Assists with receiving, storing, stocking, and organizing warehouse inventory, rotating products according to established date-code and inventory-control procedures.
  • Assists with and accurately performs physical inventory counts under the direction of management.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Perform all other special projects and duties as assigned.
