Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar transportation role
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems and mobile delivery applications
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and ability to perform routine inspections
- Familiarity with delivery route optimization and logistics principles
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries efficiently
- Physical capability to work in various weather conditions and environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies
- Plan and execute optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption
- Load, unload, and secure packages and goods in the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and protection
- Deliver packages to customers at designated locations and obtain required signatures or confirmations
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including timestamps, customer information, and any delivery exceptions
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance issues and report them promptly
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, handling complaints professionally, and maintaining a positive demeanor
- Navigate using GPS and mapping systems to locate delivery addresses and manage time effectively
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, or any issues encountered during routes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and safety protocols at all times
