About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, delivering products safely, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position supports Final Mile delivery operations across multiple locations; travel between nearby stores or delivery locations is a regular part of the role. The Delivery Specialist is responsible for timely, safe deliveries and for maintaining the delivery vehicle and equipment. The role requires customer and team communication, accurate delivery records, and compliance with traffic laws and company policies. Deliveries take place in all weather and road conditions.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Obtain a DOT Medical Card as required.
Be able to travel between nearby locations and drive assigned markets in all weather and road conditions.
Be able to move throughout store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment.
Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
Be able to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
Be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
Have time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Have strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
Have effective written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
Be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
Successfully complete all required training.
Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Previous truck delivery experience.
Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
Partner with field sales teams and store personnel to meet customer needs.
Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
