About The Position

At Office Depot, the Delivery Driver provides superior customer service in a delivery environment and operates company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customers in a timely manner. The role reconciles delivery manifests and works with management to support timely deliveries. Depending on business needs, the driver may take complete ownership of a customer delivery, including picking the order, making the delivery, and reconciling it with management. The position may require consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third party.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of personal driving experience and at least 2 years of experience making commercial deliveries.
• Valid driver's license and no moving violations in the past three years, in accordance with Office Depot policies.
• English language skills.
• Ability to perform basic computer data entry.
• Successful completion of Office Depot's in-house certification program.
• Ability to perform physical delivery functions, including bending and frequent lifting of 50 to 75 pounds.
• Ability to drive in downtown areas with high traffic volumes and in adverse weather conditions such as rain or snow.
• Ability to climb stairs while carrying boxes.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Superior interpersonal skills to support outstanding customer service.
• Ability to understand and implement detailed verbal and/or written instructions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company vehicle to deliver merchandise to customers promptly and comply with federal, state, and local traffic laws.
• Load and unload packages and merchandise from the company vehicle.
• Assist customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Organize daily delivery manifests and reconcile them with management at the end of the day.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Depending on business needs, take ownership of a customer's delivery, including picking the order, making the delivery, and reconciling it with management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
