About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers food and promotional materials within a designated delivery area, driving products to customers and carrying them to the customer’s door. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes general store team-member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves frequent standing and hand use, walking between the store, vehicle, and customer locations, and carrying products. Work may include navigating stairs, adverse terrain, and changing weather conditions. Store conditions may include varied temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must have navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Must be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites.
• Must be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers in person and by telephone.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and take and process orders.
• Must have motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately and be able to use a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Must be able to carry cases weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as carry pizzas and beverages during deliveries.
• Must be able to stand for most tasks, walk between the store, vehicle, and customer locations, and occasionally navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
• Must be able to perform repeated bending, occasional crouching or squatting, and continuous reaching.
• Must be able to use hands continuously for tasks including shaping dough, handling a pizza peel and cutter, and assembling boxes.
• Must be able to talk and hear on the telephone, use near and mid-range vision for in-store tasks, perceive depth, distinguish hot and cold surfaces, and use far and night vision for driving.
• Must be able to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car within the designated delivery area and carry them to customers’ doors.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage and work areas, including the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders, including entering orders by keyboard or touch screen.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and stock supplies on shelves.
• Navigate stairs and other delivery-site terrain while carrying products.
