About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and equipment, loading and unloading merchandise, completing vehicle inspections, keeping delivery records, and communicating with customers and store and field sales personnel. Deliveries take place in all weather and road conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 3 years of driving experience and must meet MVR check requirements.
• Must hold a DOT Medical Card as required.
• Ability to move throughout store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Ability to lift and move large, bulky, or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members and customers.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Ability to complete required training.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, driving, reaching overhead, and lifting 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer at times.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document any issues.
• Communicate with customers about deliveries and address concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
