About The Position

As a CDL Driver for Atlantic Tire Distributor, you will be responsible for safely operating a truck of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional driving skills and a commitment to safety regulations. The CDL driver in this position will be home at the end of each workday. Requirements

Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations, with a clean driving record and knowledge of DOT regulations.
Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and securing heavy loads.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
Meticulous attention to detail when securing loads and completing paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise during transit and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel overnight as needed to meet delivery schedules and customer demands.
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in proper working condition and comply with safety regulations.
Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, shippers, and receivers to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise during transit.
Complete required paperwork accurately and timely, including bills of lading, logbooks, and other transportation-related documents.
Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally and courteously when interacting with clients and the public.
Perform basic maintenance tasks on trucks and trailers, such as checking fluids, inspecting tires, and reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.
Handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively, such as accidents, breakdowns, or adverse weather conditions, while prioritizing the safety of yourself and others.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including weight limits, permit requirements, and hours-of-service regulations.
Plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules to meet deadlines and meet customer expectations.
