About The Position

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery and pick-up of pharmaceuticals and durable medical equipment to various facilities such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This role requires adherence to infection control practices, proper handling and tagging of equipment, stocking shelves, and obtaining customer signatures for deliveries. The driver will also assist facilities with delivery-related questions, maintain the cleanliness of the delivery truck, and follow all traffic laws. The position demands strong judgment, organizational skills, a commitment to quality and productivity, cost consciousness, and ethical conduct, including maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Adaptability and professionalism are key, as is participation in ongoing education to maintain competence. The role involves working early morning or late evening shifts, with potential for unscheduled overtime and weekend work, and requires travel.

  • High School diploma required
  • Current TN State Driver’s License
  • Current Automobile Insurance
  • Willingness and ability to work unscheduled overtime and week-ends
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
  • Travel required
  • Working safely and follow safety rules
  • Report unsafe working conditions and behaviors
  • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices

Responsibilities

  • Recognize and implement infection control practices that reduce the risk of infections in patients and organizational staff
  • Bags and tags dirty equipment prior to transport
  • Places stock on shelves or racks and truck
  • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery
  • Assists facilities with questions and or concerns about deliveries
  • Cleans inside of truck
  • Follows all traffic laws
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Participates in on-going education, including in-services, and other activities, to maintain and improve individual competence
