About The Position

Walden Local is hiring a seasonal full-time Delivery Driver based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The driver delivers monthly meat subscription shares to members across Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, navigating changing urban, suburban, and rural routes in all weather. Routes typically include 60 to 110 homes per day. The position runs through December 23, 2026, with weekday starts at 5:00 or 5:30 a.m. Walden Local provides training for interested candidates. Drivers are expected, after their first four weeks, to meet a goal of seven deliveries per hour, achieve 99.5% delivery accuracy, and complete routes within at least 100% of their scheduled time.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record for the past three years.
• Ability to lift and carry 10–45 pounds while walking and climbing stairs.
• Comfort driving in unfamiliar areas and working in varying weather conditions.
• Track record of excellent work attendance.
• Passion for supporting local and sustainable food and agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a 10–12-foot delivery van in urban, suburban, and rural areas in all weather across Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
• Assist with loading and unloading the delivery van.
• Use the Routific app to navigate deliveries and take a confirmation photo at each stop.
• Deliver monthly meat subscription shares to members’ homes while following delivery instructions.
• Collect the previous month’s delivery bags, fold and sort them, and return them to the warehouse for reuse.
• Communicate regularly with the manager and other team members during routes to support on-time delivery and order accuracy.
• Answer basic customer service inquiries from members during home deliveries.
• Complete pre-departure and end-of-route paperwork about the route and vehicle condition, documenting maintenance needs for the Maintenance team.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery van by removing personal items and trash and promptly cleaning food or beverage spills.
• Coordinate delivery adjustments with the Member Experience team as needed.
• Assist with miscellaneous warehouse tasks on scheduled non-delivery days.
• Meet the goal of seven deliveries per hour and 99.5% delivery accuracy, completing routes within at least 100% of their scheduled time after the first four weeks of employment.
