Position Overview SouthernCarlson, a national distributor of construction, fastening, industrial and construction supplies, is seeking a delivery driver to join our team of successful team of associates.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in a similar role
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Maintain DOT certification
  • Quick learner and able to retain knowledge
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of customer product regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Diligent attention to safety and detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction or industrial supply industry is helpful
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection of vehicle and merchandise to ensure road safety.
  • Operating a flat bed truck delivering nail pallets to customers.
  • Plan route to and from customers businesses and adjust for traffic and/or construction.
  • Warehouse activities to handle deliveries and support the warehouse team. This included pulling orders for the next day.
  • Safely transport merchandise to customers in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
  • Load truck with daily merchandise to be delivered as well as unload merchandise for customer.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with management, co-workers and/or customers to resolve any delivery issues.
  • Assist the warehouse team in between deliveries.
  • Assist with tools repairs as needed.
