About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers and performs store team-member duties. The role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement, including into management. Drivers must be available at a minimum on Fridays and/or Saturdays from 5–8 p.m. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves working in a store and making deliveries in varying weather and terrain. Store conditions may include temperatures from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees or higher, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical tasks include standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand use.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Be available at a minimum Fridays and/or Saturdays from 5–8 p.m.
• Have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses in the designated delivery area.
• Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
• Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills for taking and processing orders.
• Have motor coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately, and be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Be able to perform the physical activities described, including lifting supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from the delivery area into storage and work areas, including the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders, and communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by phone.
• Take inventory and complete related paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage shelves.
• Perform other store team-member tasks as needed.
