About The Position

Delivery Drivers are responsible for local and long-distance driving of company vehicles (capacity of more than 3 tons) to deliver and pick up loads of finished product, goods, materials, and paper stock. This position requires maintaining, cleaning, inspecting, and operating the Company truck and van. When not operating a company vehicle, they provide support with shipping/receiving functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-3 years previous driving experience in manufacturing industry preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to read scales and record measurements (basic math skills)
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending
• Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination
• Requires near visual acuity
• Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
• Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
• Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years previous driving experience in manufacturing industry

Responsibilities

• Load, transport and deliver items to clients or businesses locally or out-of-state in a safe, timely manner
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, in good condition, and meet weight requirements
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles
• Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients
• Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
• Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned
