Delivery Driver (Non CDL)
About The Position
Forever Cheese is seeking a reliable, safety-focused individual to join their team as a Delivery Driver in Toano, VA. This full-time, non-exempt position involves the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of specialty food products to customers throughout the region. The role requires a strong work ethic, a clean driving record, and adherence to all traffic laws and company safety standards. It is a local route position with a standard 40-hour work week, with potential for up to 50 hours during peak periods, with overtime compensated accordingly. Successful candidates will be safety-first professionals, dependable, punctual, proactive communicators, flexible, and provide courteous, professional service.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).
- Clean and acceptable driving record (MVR required).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
- Working knowledge of safe driving practices and local delivery routes.
- Strong communication, customer service, and time-management skills.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving or delivery experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate company delivery vans safely and in full compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic regulations.
- Deliver product to customer locations on schedule via local daily routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Load, secure, and protect temperature-sensitive product during transport, maintaining proper cold chain handling.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and maintain accurate delivery records, invoices, and returns documentation.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding routes, traffic, delays, or any issues encountered.
- Follow all company policies related to safety, vehicle care, and fuel usage.
- Represent the company professionally at all customer locations.
- Carry out any additional duties that may be assigned or requested.
